' --------------------------------- ' ' This file is CWOPS.LST - it may be ' edited with any text editor, ' ' Maintained by Joe K8JP ' Updated: 20th June 2011 ' Latest Membership Number - 915 ' ' --------------------------------- ' ' Use SD's LOAD command to tell SD to use this file. ' ' Type "LOAD" in the callsign field on the logging ' screen and hit Enter/Return. SD asks you which ' .LST file you want to use - Type CWOPS (not CWOPS.LST). ' ' You only have to do this once. SD will automatically ' load CWOPS.LST every time it starts, unless you load ' a different .LST file in the meantime. ' ' You may LOAD multiple .LST files ' ' --------------------------------- ' ' CW Open : Select SD's CW OPEN template ' ' As you enter matching callsigns, SD extracts ' the Name and inserts it in the exchange field ' ' When you press Enter to leave the callsign field, ' the cursor is placed at the first name character, ' and SD's data entry mode is set to Insert. ' Simply type the serial received (no leading zeros ' or trailing space needed) followed by Enter to log ' the QSO. ' ' ' Mini-CWT : Select SD's "CWops Mini-CWT" template ' ' As you enter matching CWOPS callsigns, SD automatically ' inserts their membership number in the "serial" field. ' ' When you hear a membership number and want to know ' the callsign, enter the number in the callsign field. ' A second Enter correctly auto-fills callsign and ' membership number on the logging line. ' ' Starting SD: ' ' Start SD from the shortcut icon on your desktop, ' enter a new contest name, and select the "Mini-CWT" ' template. ' ' If you're not using rig control, you'll need to set ' the initial band. Enter HELP, or refer to the manual, ' SD.PDF, for more information. ' ' Use the PORTS command to define your CW and rig ' control ports. ' ' Finally, use Shift-F2 to update the F2 (exchange), ' and perhaps F4 (dupe) keyer memories to include your ' name and membership number. ' For example #C #T Ranko 172#E ' ' #C represents the logged call ' #T represents RST Sent ' 172 is Ranko's membership number (substitute your own), ' #E represents Enter - it takes you directly to the ' Membership Number (Serial) field. ' ' If you define F2 as #C#N #T Ranko 172#E, SD sends the ' member's name after the callsign - where #N is the ' name parameter. Do not alter the spacing. ' ' Now you're ready! It's worth noting that Enter/Return ' is recommended after every data field. ' ' Use Minus OR F11 to wipe QSO data, or abandon an edit. ' Use Esc to wipe a single field, and a second Esc to ' restore it. Use ZAP to delete the most recent QSO ' logged. ' ' If you prefer to send "real" reports, use the RST ' command to toggle the RST Sent field. ' ' SD writes to disk after every QSO is logged or edited. ' Further, it maintains a separate audit trail (.AUD) ' file of all QSOs and Edits. There is a standard ' option in SDCHECK, the post-contest program, to ' recreate your log from the audit file - should it ' ever be necessary. You will not lose QSOs is you ' lose power, or your computer stops unexpectedly. ' ' Use the BACKUP or DUMP commands to take a copy of ' your log to any device you choose ' ' After the test, use SDCHECK (supplied with SD) ' to create your Cabrillo .LOG file. ' ' If you need help from other SD users, try the sd-user ' mailing list at contesting.com - or email EI5DI ' directly - pokane@ei5di.com '
